Safe to say the early ’90s are making a comeback. Or, in the case of Shellshag, they never really ended. One listen to the now-Brooklyn-based band’s lo-fi sound and groups like the Pixies, Sonic Youth and The Breeders come to mind. Further, their debut EP was recorded by Pavement’s Gary Young.
Shellshag‘s new full-length, Rumors in Disguise, is out February 9 via Don Giovanni. If you’re in the New York City area, check out their record release party February 6 at Bowery Ballroom. The world can always use more all ages shows, and this is one of them. But if you’re under 16 years old, you’ll have to bring a parent, then ditch them upon arrival.
