The population of Manchester, Tennessee gets its biggest boost of the year starting this weekend as kids descend on a 700-acre farm for Bonnaroo. Starting Thursday, Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Phoenix, Jay Electronica, Tori Amos, The National, The Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Weezer and dozens more all take the stage.
NPR will broadcast live select performances from the festival, as will college station WFUV. Tickets to the fest are still available, including 4-day general admission and, if you got it like that, VIP passes.
There are plenty of mixtapes floating around to help you prepare your schedule, some that even benefit climate change. Bonnaroo is one of the greenest fests in the States, with sustainability measures aiming to reduce the impact of so many people packing into the area. Check the green report from 2009.
And if you’re lucky, maybe Here We Go Magic will throw in some special tricks.
