Many “national months” should be held up to persiflage until they gather their diminutive rallying points and disappear into a hazy yonder far, far away. (I mean really, who has time for Prune Breakfast Month, Correct Posture Month or National Toilet Tank Repair Month?)
However, only a pitiable fool who darns wet blankets in their spare time would fail to recognize the considerable merits of National Hot Dog Month. One weiner-loving rocker is embarking on what has been characterized as a “juicy, one-day hot dog rock tour of the New York/New Jersey area.”
McSAPRR will bring break-dancing hot dogs along for the ride, along with his wurst (har) inspired Frank Zappa-esque songs on July 1, when he embarks on a fearless–nay, selfless plan to rock out eight hot dog establishments in 10 hours, including Katz’s Deli and Crif Dogs. (More info here).
To whet our appetites for the relish-inflected, ketchup-laced madness, McSAPRR cannily released his first hot dog rock video which features “hot licks, hot chicks, and hot breakdancing hot dogs,” merely an amuse bouche from his Hot Dog Rock album, the world’s first, um, hot dog opera.
