Metric, whose songs have been featured in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” is back with their newest album Synthetica. Released on Metric Music International, it captures the dark and foreboding voice of Emily Haines juxtaposed with the energetic and luminous sounds of James Shaw’s synths.
Following their Hollywood success and a Grammy nomination to boot, the band collaborated earlier this year with composer Howard Shore to score David Cronenberg’s film “Cosmopolis.”
Recently, the band put out a four-part mini documentary series that goes behind the scenes of the production of their album. Take a sneak peak at Metric’s personalized studio in episode one and the writing process in episode two.
You can also get a taste of the single “Youth Without Youth,” featuring a beautiful balance between artistic symbolic imagery and the band members at work. Listen to what the band had to say about artists using new approaches and multimedia projects to promote their music when they stopped by our studio.
