Shawn Corey Carter, aka Jay-Z, is reportedly worth $450 million dollars. That can buy a lot of pizza pie.

The music mogul/club owner/basketball team-funder/fashion designer/rap beef-nurturer/husband to the inimitable Beyonce and walking, talking urban legend could hit any sauce-slinging joint in town. But when he has a craving for a little thin-crust, he slips over the Brooklyn Bridge and hits Lucali.

Good news for Jay-Z (and the rest of us): His commute just got shorter. Lucali is moving to Manhattan, according to Grub Street, which got the scoop from Eater, which spotted an auspicious bundle of paperwork in a pile recently released by Community Board 2.

Lucali Kenmare is slated to open in one of the most hotly contested pizza zones in Manhattan, between Mott and Elizabeth streets.

Expect rustic pizzas, blasting Italian music, gigantic calzones oozing with fresh cheese, adorable waiters and an even longer line.

Will Lombardi’s, right around the corner, be ousted from its current roost at the top of the SoHo pizza heap? TBD–but they best be Watching Their Throne.

The population of Manchester, Tennessee gets its biggest boost of the year starting this weekend as kids descend on a 700-acre farm for Bonnaroo. Starting Thursday, Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Phoenix, Jay Electronica, Tori Amos, The National, The Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Weezer and dozens more all take the stage.

NPR will broadcast live select performances from the festival, as will college station WFUV. Tickets to the fest are still available, including 4-day general admission and, if you got it like that, VIP passes.

There are plenty of mixtapes floating around to help you prepare your schedule, some that even benefit climate change. Bonnaroo is one of the greenest fests in the States, with sustainability measures aiming to reduce the impact of so many people packing into the area. Check the green report from 2009.

And if you’re lucky, maybe Here We Go Magic will throw in some special tricks.

Musicians’ obsession with food is well-documented–from Moby, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Sammy Hagar, Huskur Du and Jay-Z , it seems there’s no end to artiste’s fascination with the notably greasy, gritty and inglorious industry of ingestibles.

Their success, longevity and talent in said industry? Let’s just say most of them shouldn’t quit their wildly glamorous, lucrative and be-glittered day jobs to sweat with other members of the hoi polloi over flaming burners anytime soon.

That’s with the highly conspicuous exception of Kelis, who recently released the new record Flesh Tone–but not before taking a four-year break from the music world to become a saucier, one of the most difficult and uncelebrated posts in the kitchen.

While most pampered celebrities would probably run screaming back to the studio after burning their first roux or being roundly mocked for their inability to produce a totally smooth and uncurdled Bearnaise sauce, Kelis hung in there, even telling NME she “ended up falling madly in love with the food and the lifestyle.”

Why she considers the “lifestyle” of the $12 an hour, 80-hour a week, back-breaking, schvitz-breeding, thankless and grime-coated life of a sous chef or a saucier more attractive than Twittering a lovely song or two for dinner is beyond me, but hey, so are charm quarks and string theory.

And if Matt Lauer is involved in a steamy sex scandal, truly anything could happen. The sky could fall at any minute. Lady Gaga could become a taco vendor. Madonna could discover the joy of deep-frying falafel balls. Jacques Pepin could become a rock star.

Jay-Z and Eminem announced they’ll be teaming up for two shows this September, one in each each rapper’s hometown. Jay-Z will headline New York’s Yankee Stadium and Eminem will headline Detroit’s Comerica Park. Both are touring Europe in support of new albums this summer, and cross paths at Switzerland’s Openair Festival and Ireland’s Oxegen Fest before the homecoming shows.

If Jay-Z’s mini-mix of hits on Saturday Night Live last weekend was any indication, the rapper is clearly ready to release a greatest hits compilation. Volume 1 is due June 29, which can only mean Volume 2 is somewhere down the line.

“Not Afraid” is the new single from Eminem, off of Recovery, out June 22. The song debuted at #1 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

The 11th annual Coachella Music and Arts Festival lineup features headliners Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz, in addition to LCD Soundystem, Them Crooked Vultures, Faith No More, Tiësto, Pavement and–possibly–Thom Yorke. Event organizers Golden Voice are seemingly playing coy on whether the environmental advocate will attend, but EW.com has an explanation.

The three-day fest held at Empire Polo Fields in Indio, Calif. April 16-18, 2010 includes dozens of other acts, from quirky types like Yo La Tengo and Dirty Projectors to indie favorites Grizzly Bear and Vampire Weekend. David Guetta and Kaskade hold down the dance floor, while hip-hop fans will appreciate P.O.S., Z-Trip and Flying Lotus.

And did we mention the reunions? Or at least bands you might as well see while you can? Sunny Day Real Estate, Grace Jones, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Specials, Sly & the Family Stone and, of course, Faith No More, who spent much of last year on a world tour. Additional North American dates have not yet been announced.

Uncensored Interviewees performing include The xx, Matt and Kim, Little Boots, Beach House, Hockey, Frightened Rabbit, Mew, Ra Ra Riot, The Temper Trap and The Soft Pack.

Check out the full lineup, and find ticket and camping information at Coachella’s website.

How do you rate the last decade of music? Think it will stand up to the next? Catching up on full albums you missed the first time, finally giving attention to bands dismissed as hype, discovering new old gems and judging the music tastes of your peers (he likes what?) is a time-consuming, yet noble pursuit.

But you’ve spent enough time pouring over “Best of 2009″ lists. It’s time to look ahead into the next decade of music, and we’re hoping this one is filled with bangin’ beats, badass bands and groundbreaking talent. Here’s a preview of what’s shaking in 2010.

1. The Strokes
Enough of the side projects, dudes. The foursome is expected to release their fourth full-length in early 2010, their first record in four years. See a pattern here? The band is also scheduled to headline The Isle Of Wight festival, as well as Scotland’s RockNess fest. Here’s to hoping they do a North American tour in support of the new record.

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson: The Strokes Play to Four People.

2. Pavement
Yes, they’re embarking on a world tour. No, don’t get any big ideas. Matador has made it very clear: “Please be advised this tour is not a prelude to additional jaunts and/or a permanent reunion.” Whatever, they’re totally fulfilling long-held daydreams either way.

Hymns: Pounding the Pavement.

3. Belle & Sebastian
Sure, their website hints at a new album, but the iPhone app confirms it. Sort of. twentyten is a calendar to help fans keep up with everything the Scottish band is up to in 2010. Calendar = shows = album.

4. David Byrne and Fatboy Slim
What do you get when you cross a Talking Head, a Fatboy and artists like Florence Welch, Sharon Jones, Nellie McKay, Róisín Murphy, Tori Amos, Santigold, Sia, Theresa Andersson and a few more? We have no idea, but we bet it’s big. Out February 23 via Todomundo/Nonesuch.

5. Radiohead
Though singer Thom Yorke has declared Radiohead won’t be recording any more full-lengths, preferring instead to drop EPs and single mp3s, the band is heading into the studio beginning in January. Maybe a little spoken word on climate change? We’re guessing Radiohead fans would dig it.

Punch Brothers: Radio Brothers.

6. Dr. Dre
The much-hyped, much-delayed album is reportedly slated for a 2010 release, with a second Up in Smoke tour to follow. Detox–said to be Dre‘s last solo album–has been in the works for a decade. When tracks leaked earlier this year, it became obvious that only top notch talent would make the cut. Guest appearance rumors include Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Lil Wayne and more.

7. Sufjan Stevens
He’s abandoned that little project, but you have to admire the man’s ambition (and a Test Icicle aiming for something similar). Now that he’s taken the pressure off of himself to write and record around the clock, it seems he’s been able to do just that. Forthcoming album sometime in 2010.

8. LCD Soundsystem
See? Here’s a man who hates “best of” lists. He’s spent all his free time working instead, and the result is a new LCD Soundsystem record, out next spring. He’s also confirmed to play Spain’s Sonar Fest next summer.
http://www.uncensoredinterview.com/vlogs/10261-friendly-fires-professional-producer

9. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Cult favorites Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are set to release their sixth album, Beat the Devil’s Tattoo, in March. They–along with several other UI interviewees–appeared on the “New Moon” soundtrack, surely expanding their audience. New fans and old will be able to catch them live as part of a massive North American and European tour starting late February.

The Black Angels: Inspired Influences.

10. T.I.
The rubber band man is scheduled to be released from the pen in March after serving a year and a day for federal weapons charges, and our guess is he’s been doing some writing in there. T.I. scored a string of hits from his last full-length, Paper Trail, on top of four Grammy nominations.

Matt & Kim: Top of the Pops.

Other notables/rumors/hopefuls: Spoon, Beach House, Ted Leo, Magnetic Fields, Laura Veirs, Courtney Love, The National and many more.

After a three year hiatus, The Strokes will take the stage next summer at the Isle of Wight Festival in the UK. Jay-Z, Blondie, Pink, Orbital and Squeeze will also play during the three-day festival June 11-13, 2010. A final headliner will soon be announced, and tickets go on sale Friday December 4.

First held in 1968, the festival drew an estimate of over 600,000 people in its third year. As a result of the cramped event, Parliament passed the Isle of Wight bill in 1971, banning crowds of over 5,000 on the island without a special license. Revived in 2002, the festival now attracts 55,000 music fans. Past performers include The Rolling Stones, Muse, Ray Davies, David Bowie and The Police.

Not that playing the UK to get people talking is a new strategy for The Strokes. They’ve been working that angle (successfully) for quite some time.

MTV’s 26th annual Video Music Awards broadcasts live this Sunday at 9 p.m. EST.

Janet Jackson is expected to pay tribute to brother Michael, who died June 25. Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Green Day, Wale, Pink, Taylor Swift, Pitbull and Muse (yes, that Muse) are also set to perform. Rabble-rouser Russell Brand returns to host the shebang for his second year in a row, and fan favorite last year Britney Spears is also rumored to be making an appearance.

As we previously reported, there are some indie acts on MTV’s radar. The Breakthrough Video category features Chairlift, Matt & Kim, Bat For Lashes, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Passion Pit and Death Cab for Cutie.

The Video Music Awards have experienced a dip in ratings in recent years, with 8.4 million viewers in 2008. The show drew 26.2 million viewers in 2002. The drop could be because more are tuning in online. MTV.com reported 2.6 million unique visitors the day the show aired in 2007, making it the highest trafficked day in the site’s history.

And in case you can’t figure out how Green Day is still an MTV favorite, it may be because they’re still a favorite of many.
